Basel enjoys a high reputation among those interested in culture. The city is an attractive location for actors in all creative fields. The local creative industry, however, lacks cross-industry networking, visibility and appreciation. In January 2016, therefore, a new bottom-up association for Basel's creative industries was founded. The new association kreaB serves creative people as a mouthpiece, connects industries and players and wants to make their achievements visible in Basel.
The creative industry is subdivided into 13 submarkets whose interests are represented in solidarity. This picks up on the logotype of kreaB elegantly by the large B, which stands for Basel, designed from the numbers 1 and 3.
Tour de Création
SUAN volunteerd to create visual and media for the annual Tour de Création. The concept of the visual language of the Tour de Création envisages playing with the interfaces between individual sections of the creative industry. Objects that belong to the studios (submarkets) that participate in the respective edition of the Tour de Création are linked together, but distinguished by a clear cut color. Every year, the Tour de Création determines a small map excerpt in Basel, where local creatives can open their doors at the event and present their studio or office. To draw attention to the scattered ateliers, cargo bikes carrying musicians moved back and forth between the studios. The first Tour de Création 2016 was a great success and for kreaB also a strong marketing tool.
Salon des Créateurs
Another format of kreaB is the smaller Salon des Créateurs. Each hosted by a member studio of kreaB, which not only opens its doors, but also considers a program. A good opportunity for exchange and networking among and with the creative people of the Basel region. With the design for the salon you want to attract attention with a few flyers attention for the format and visually slightly different from the Tour de Création.
